What is wrong with people, do they understand they are only going to France, and stopping them leaving is preventing families from reuniting?
We are going to have an election in July 2029. People had better unfuck their heads and make sure everyone understands what not getting immigration under control will mean, unless you all plan to ban Reform from being in that election.

Why are we flying them? If they are going back to France, just hire a fucking ferry and detain them until there’s enough to fill it….
These guys are absolute idiots who will hand the election to Reform by making it impossible for Labour to target illegal immigration. It’s not like they’re being sent back to Sudan or wherever.
I could’ve sworn there was an article earlier today saying that this was coming into effect in a couple of weeks? Now suddenly it’s tonight it was meant to come into effect and that it’s been cancelled last minute
Also the article requires a subscription so I can’t read on, hopefully it’ll just be this one that gets cancelled and that they’ll be full steam ahead soon
The Telegraph, as usual, is writing propaganda without regard to the headlines. From the Times:
> Lawyers acting on behalf of several migrants due to be among the first to be removed under the one-in, one-out returns deal revealed that their removal had been delayed after submitting last-minute legal challenges.
> A claim submitted by one of the migrants who was due to be removed on a flight from Heathrow to Paris on Tuesday argued that their experience of being tortured and trafficked should prevent them from being returned to France.
> Their deportation has been deferred while the Home Office considers its response. It is likely that the Home Office will refuse the claim but it is understood that officials have asked for more time to consider the case.
So there is no evidence that “protests” (as far as I can tell, a small letter-writing campaign and nothing else) had an effect. It was solely due to legal claims and it is unlikely to be a major delay – indeed the Telegraph slips this in under the headline, knowing most people won’t read that far:
> The Home Office is understood to be planning to put him on another flight on Tuesday, with the French authorities preparing to accommodate him in a hotel in Roissy-en-France, in the north-eastern suburbs of Paris.
Worthwhile noting, this is one migrant, the first. I’ve no idea of their reason to claim to remain is legitimate or not.
They should make it so that protestors have to house one of them and pay for all of their food and other needs. Let’s see how many protest then
