NATO should accept the challenge. You can’t imagine the complaints and whining of russia when NATO says: “Okay, your wish is my command”.

What would putin do if russia was about to use their last 300 artilery pieces and all of its refineries were being destroyed and he needed a good pretext to leave ukraine? Do some provocation in poland, force nato to put some air defence inside ukraine and then claim he did not lose the war to the much smaller country of ukraine but to nato instead

Sounds true – Putin is sending drones to other NATO countries, and having infiltrators sabotage infrastructure as well. Russia is propagating a war on NATO, let’s not pretend otherwise.
