      I definitely recommend everyone interested to watch the Edward Snowden interview on Joe Rogan about a very similar thing that happened in the US – the mass surveillance system they secretly introduced to “help catch Al Qaeda terrorists,” – which (spoiler alert) didn’t help catch any, but helped the government very much to spy on US citizens

      The good news still is that germany does reject the breaking of encryption, which is like nearly the entire point of chat control. So there is still hope. Let’s not give up yet.

      Countries like Germany have completely lost the plot if they think this is a good thing.

      CDU/CSU always being anti privacy and scanning everything is nothing new.
      SPD on the other hand never had a firm stance on anything so I would not get my hope up that they will still be against the chat control
