Cool marketing. Now show the British gas chambers, the British farrowing cages, and the British factory farm corrals where the cramped pigs fester in pigshit. For balance.

I already buy Welsh pork produced locally and butchered by a local butcher in his own family owned abattoir. I do prefer Welsh pork and beef though. It’s nice and I like that it’s local or in a handful of cases, regional. I think the furthest distance my meat travels is from Caerfyrddin! And I live near Swansea so that’s not very far at all!

Pork is dirty you’re better off with chicken or beef
It’s because pork is cheap, just over £2 a kilo.
They want to raise the price and make it more popular again.
By comparison lamb is 6.75 a kilo, beef 6.35.
Honestly wholesale right now is well worth it.

If people want to buy British meat, go to a local butchers. Far better for the environment, though I doubt that is the reason people want to buy British.
I find these threads are always a sign of how Reddit is so far removed from general society, with multiple usually obnoxious vegans condemning others for wanting to eat meat because meat was mentioned. In reality I purchase meat all the time and nobody bats an eye but if you only exposure to British society was Reddit you’d be forgiven for thinking purchasing a ham sandwich in the local Co-op was taboo.

Love a good bit of pork. Rolled pork loin, pork ribs, pulled pork, roasted pork leg on a Sunday, bacon, sausages. Yum.

Impossible. I was told by an American on here that saying group like Pork will result in you getting arrested.

In related news, Animal Justice Project is releasing [a new pig farm investigation](https://x.com/ajpReact/status/1967986489356075321) probably tomorrow.
