There is little point in ‘standing up’ to Trump on anything, whether it’s climate change, Israel, whatever. He might listen, he might be reasonably polite, he might even agree with you, but he won’t change his mind or take any positive action.
Being generous, he’s a very old man set in his ways and opinions. He’s also been given virtually unlimited powers, has a history of bearing grudges and lashing out at perceived opponents. The best way to treat Trump is smile, flatter and quietly disengage while accepting that America is no longer any kind of reliable ally and acting accordingly.

How tragic that we’re still at a point that this is necessary. What future are we leaving for our children.

We have much bigger problems than the temperature increasing by 1 Centigrade after 200 years. That figure even includes naturally occurring climate change.

Gonna be honest, on the past years proof and examples, expecting Starmer to stand up to anyone, about anything, is a bit optimistic.

Starmer couldn’t sack Rayner when the pressure was on. He’s hardly going to stand up to Trump, who not long ago made a meal of him on live television.
Edit spelling mistake.

Starmer reminds of Jerry from Rick and Morty, specifically that episode where he’s a submissive slug creature who keeps “presenting”.
Don’t see him standing up for anything. Or anyone.

Trump will have been gone six months by the time Starmer’s finished assembling his committee on whether or not to accept this advice.

Kier couldn’t stand up to a stiff breeze, let alone the madness that is Trump.

Keir Starmer has the lowest approval rating on record if he can’t get British people on his side how the fuck do you expect him to convince Trump?

He needs a science lesson, Keir should get a kids pop up book explaining the greenhouse effect and read it to him at bedtime, otherwise he’s just going to see it through the lens of right v left, government v free market etc
