To be fair 30 minutes sounds how long it would take to ring up the press card helpline and confirm validity?

What a joke, wonder how they’ll justify this one. If it was my picture on the van they’d be telling me it’s a civil matter.

Sigh, there is no way that sign broke a law. What are the police doing?

I’m convinced we’re seeing a coalition of some judges, civil servants, police and journalists working to undermine the current government by antagonising voters to promote Reform.

I fear Starmer doesn’t realise he’s surrounded by enemies.

The dubious actions of police and immigration judges can’t just be incompetence.

What a shambles our Police are. Can’t attend a burglary but shuts this shit down in 30 mins.

WTF, I hope this guy can sue the police for wrongful arrest.

So much for rule of law. Starmer really is a piece of work.

Watch out OP, by posting that picture on Reddit you can now expect a knock at the door and a spell in an internment camp for ‘re-education’.

Honestly, it’s such a fucking joke. The fragile ego of the world’s biggest man-baby and suddenly they’re arresting people for sharing a picture. And they dare to lecture the rest of the world on freedom of speech.

Led by Donkeys are doing God’s work. If you appreciate your freedom of speech and someone holding the bastards to account, you can contribute to the cause by [making a donation](https://donate.ledbydonkeys.org/).

JD Vance was right, there is no free Speech in the UK, unless it favors Trump…

    10. FuzzBuket on

Man I sure am shocked that it turns out starmers opposition to protest wouldn’t just apply to pro-palestine protest and would instead apply to any protest that he views as inconvenient

    11. Express-Doughnut-562 on

What do they mean? It’s just a nice picture welcoming Donald to the UK with a picture of him and a pal? Nothing malicious about it at all.

There must be many many media people involved in the Epstein files with all this media blackout!

Come on journalists- do your fucking jobs!!!!

This just screams corruption from the highest level.

What a shit time period to be alive in.

Can we stop looking down on other countries now for supposedly not having free speech? Showing a picture in public or tweeting something is what you would expect to hear someone getting arrested for in a country with a dictator

    15. entersandmum143 on

It appears that there was no arrest, no sending to jail. The journalists were questioned for approx 30mins. Granted, I do imagine that in those 30mins things like valid drivers license, tire checking, weight checking etc were performed in order to find an excuse to take the van off the road.

Pure conjecture on my part, but knowing how thin skinned Trump is, and the fact that he would fuck his own country, to fuck our country in the name of revenge, (part of his visit us some sort of tech deal?…there must be some mandate for the police to make sure protests / normal political snark are ‘toned down’ in order to not offend him. Personally, I think ‘fuck Trump’ but I can imagine as a government official I’d be thinking ‘arrive, sign, fuck off’ yet resigning yourself to the fact that Trumps bety nature will require some assistance kissing and being distracted by shiny objects in order for the deal to go ahead.

Back to the article. I’d assume the van was allowed to proceed. Does anyone know if it was?
