The smoking’s the really bad part, the nicotine is less important, but keeps you smoking. If it helps, enjoy your nicotine addiction until you no longer think about smoking, then dial it down. It you think you can be more ambitious… no harm.

They do work though. I used them for a good while but dont anymore. Good luck, its well worth the effort

    4. Good luck with it, but really it’s swapping one addiction for another. Put yourself on a reducing protocol with patches to get off completely.

They looked like batteries. I swear I thought they started making electrically charged cigarettes for a moment.

Or maybe they had already… I don’t know with the world anymore.

Replacing nicotine with nicotine. Go read Allen Carrs book, read it in one day and then see what happens.

Quitting is easy! It’s not taking it up again which is the hard part… Best of luck from an ex smoker.

      2 months free of cigarettes
Just told myself: If you can’t handle this, how are you supposed to handle bigger challenges later in life.
      It worked for me.
      Good luck 👍

      Is that your family tartan?

You’ll get the hump with those in a couple more weeks and just drop them altogether.

      You got this! 👊🏻

Does anyone know the best way to get off nicotine pouches (VELO etc.) I don’t see anything online and I’m finding it so hard.

    12. Severe_Eagle2102 on

Best of luck, nearly there. I went through the process 8 years ago and I was a heavy rolly smoker. I needed the inhaler pen thing for the first while out of habit when having a coffee but gradually stopped needing them and substitued with lozenges when the patches kicked in. Slowly reduced over the space of a few months and I still have the last box of patches in my medicine cabinet that I refuse to throw away, for sentimental reasons.

I found the zym type nicotine pouches great for giving up, for years I always thought they were disgusting like that tobacco dip stuff you find American rednecks use but it’s actually alot more clean and discreet.

I quit vape too.. been 19 days now
Goodluck mate! Download a quitting app, it’s v helpful

I got hooked on the sprays this way. I went back on half a patch (you can cut them no problem) for a few weeks. My problem was I was seeing the 4 hits an hour recommended limit as a target and was rewarding myself

Boots do a dry mouth spray (toothpaste section) that you can use as a nicotine free substitute. It’s a very generous spray and a pleasant minty taste.

4 years off the bastards myself and do still think about it but it’s fleeting. That was my 3rd attempt and it’s thankfully stuff.

    16. dirkwellick on

Where can I get these? I checked in SPAR and they only have that shitty chewable tobacco stuff.

Cravings were not a problem for me so went cold turkey, they do lessen after 3 days. Would go to bed early as cravings were worse at night.

Hardest thing was the habit/ritual of smoking.

I took the nicotine mints to give up smoking. Stayed on the bloody things for eight years 😂 finally free of everything

Thank fuck i zoomed to see what they are i didnt thought they are to be sprayed. thought they are some sort of insert where the sun dont shine nicorette

    20. Worried-Piglet6168 on

The lozenges were great as they burn the mouth off you and teach you to associate the nicotine with an unpleasant sensation at least they did for me
I’m a year off them this week

I made nicotine an enemy. Every time I had a craving I was like f.u. nicotine! My buzz then became defying the craving. Good luck

    22. I switched to rolleys about 2 months ago and I find im down to smoking feck all now, just out of sheer laziness in having to roll it. I wasnt really even trying to give up but im out of excuses not to now really. Its the next most natural step.

    23. Less_Local_1727 on

Patches worked for me. Wife has gone back to sprays. Whatever you find works and gets away from the cancer sticks 👍

    24. DeadlySkies on

      Go for the nicotine pouches

They helped me, but now I’m addicted to them 😭

Still, better for the lungs and heart…

    25. Jamiemcg9988 on

I ended up more addicted to the sprays and gum, best way to do it is read Allen Carrs book on quitting smoking and go cold turkey.

    26. Mac_Cumhaill99 on

I myself am coming to 6 months off the smokes.

The chewing gums brought me through it. You definitely don’t get addicted to the gums/sprays like you would the smokes

I’ll still buy gums if I’m around smokers but I don’t use them day to day.

Stick with it, 28 days off the smokes will mean you’re 5 times more likely to quit forever.
