“As President of the Republic of Poland, I believe that Poland should participate in nuclear sharing. It should have its own nuclear, energy, civil and military capabilities. The partnership between Poland and France is based on this.”

Nothing like adding some nukes to the mix to keep things spicy. But seriously, are we just playing musical chairs with nuclear weapons now?

yeah no thanks we will protect europe but we keep our m51 at home

You need to move around them constantly on subs, mobile platforms etc. how to achieve it practically in Poland?

    5. RevolutionaryHair91 on

And I would like polish and french forces stationed in ukraine but here we are.

We’re fine keeping the M51s in the submarines, we can already shoot wherever we want that way.

I highly doubt France would do that. At a certain point, Eastern Europe must ask itself if it shouldn’t have its own nukes. They’re at the frontline.

It would be cheaper for all of us if we go for the European Defense Community and we develop a proper chain of command. After that, that’s when we could develop a European nuke. I’ve seen scientific papers on that, It wouldn’t be neither really expensive nor hard to develop a basic nuke, given our european scientific capabilities.

As a historian, surely he would know about the Cuban Missile Crisis? It would not surprise me if, were the missiles to be installed, a Russian special ops team would be dispatched to eliminate the threat.

Yeaaah but no. Some risks, you see. On your east side. And on your far right also. Well. No.

Poland needs to make its own. “Stationed” carries very little weight, the weapons would always remain under French operational control, Macron was clear about that. And they can already be launched from anywhere. Not to mention you’re relying on the wishful thinking that the French government wont become more conservative and isolationist over time.

Other WMD types need to be explored as well. Nothing should be off the table to achieve maximum deterrent.

And with the French nuclear doctrine of a “warning shot” it would definitely send a clear message to the Russians
