Exaggeration happens when on the “far” side of the political spectrum.
Some people fall for it.
Most of us ignore it.
For balance, yes the “far right” have their “go-to trope” as covered in the article, but the “far left” also have theirs.
Women and girls are always seen as easy options for exploitation.
Isn’t the saying that “the left considers women public property and the right considers them private property”?
So we’re all supposed to pretend it isn’t happening then?
I just want to make sure I know what the correct attitude is so I don’t get cancelled.
I mean, the fact that the UK establishment enabled child abuse is utterly undeniable, so it’s hardly surprising that populists would exploit that. The funny thing is they’re not going after the CofE or police are they? Never do.
EDIT: thinking about it further, I don’t generally believe in conspiracy, it’s more why are conservative forces in the US and UK suddenly so bothered about Muslim pedophiles, why are they expending so much money on it now? Clear “look over there stuff.”

There was a clip from their gathering last week wearing they were changing “get your tits out for the lads” to a woman. These people don’t care one bit about women or girls.
“We don’t want none of these foreigners comin over ere abusing our women and kids…..their takin our jobs!!!”

It’s incredible that the Guardian managed to write quite a long article about this issue and only included one perfunctory sentence on grooming gangs
This does kinda read like: Instead of dealing with the bad thing we will go after those who point out the bad thing.
A friend was at one of the counter-marches and had multiple far-right protestors gesturing at her to get her tits out.
They don’t care about women at all, other than as objects to ‘preserve’, not as people.
Sorry, but can you just explain to 1400 kids in Rotherham how they are now just part of a “trope”?
I never once heard any of them mention rising child poverty, and when the government announced they were funding youth clubs, these people also said nothing.
