Who is Patrick trying to kid?
Ireland has some of the most restrictive defamation laws on earth. Even stating a *true, evidenced fact* that could damage someone’s public character is unlawful here. Gagging threats have become common against journalists since the law was introduced in 2009.
Pfffft yeah right 🤣 Try saying anything about Denis O’Brien.
What is he talking about?
BBC Spotlight team might disagree.
Honestly embarrassing. Why do we think Jimmy Kimmel or anyone else on the world stage for that matter, actually gives a fiddlers fart what a B rated presenter from Ireland says.
Talking shite as usual then.
I like the sentiment but I feel like Tubridy regularly tried to curtail his guests opinions to avoid defamation claims etc. Nobody will care if you criticize Trump but talk about the Dennis O’Briens and its a whole different matter.
[Case in point, Oliver Callen](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eRneCyXka4s)
As long as it is in line government sentiments isn’t that right Paddy boy? 😂😂😂😂
It’s so frustrating how gatekeepers only react when things threaten to affect their lives.
This is demonstrably untrue, plus his own show has forced guests not to show support for Palestine even forcing performers to remove watermelon pins. Hopefully it’s a learning moment
I’m not feeling well after watching this, finding it difficult to breathe.
Not sure if I’m being asphyxiated from fumes of the gaslight or if my cringe pipe just ruptured.
So are we going to chat about the Quinn family fortune?
Don’t bring Kimmel over here. We should not be advertising; yanks will start fleeing to here.
Lmao what? They stopped kneecap from wearing Palestine badges or else would refuse to air them. The hypocrisy is a bit easy to trace.
Has he had a conversation with Stephen Fry?
Ireland has one of the most restrictive defamation laws in Europe. We have had everyone from Denis O’Brien, to Mary Lou use these laws in order to gag opinion.
Ireland’s mainstream media operate within the “Beltway”. Kielty might think he can say whatever he wants but his producers and editors know how to not bite the hand that feeds.
The Catholic Church would like a word

Well, you can’t say ‘this is my wife, Cat’ can you Paddy?
Remember when a government minister had the gardaí caution a blogger at an airport for criticising her?

Who and who
It’s nauseating enough that we’re importing this American tosh over here. But for the mouthpiece television show for Official Ireland to be saying this shite makes me vomit.
And the low IQ seals lapping it up in the audience and at home. Fuck me. There’s nothing to like about it.
Bruh, we are the land of defamation laws, a theatre director threatened to sue me before for remarks I made about his show and how I thought it was poor.
If Kielty wants to try the Irish equivalent of what Kimmel did he should speculate in a monologue on the nationality of the suspect in our next stabbing fiasco
Wasn’t there a concerted effort to ban criticism of MCD following events related to a Concert
Who are the clowns upvoting this nonsense?
