If every pothole cost £30 we’d have roads like glass

Would rather those potholes get filled then.
With everything going on, to have the energy to care about flags or vandalism (you see graffiti everywhere anyway) is just beyond me.

I have a free work around for this. It’s called rain, save the money for fixing the paths

Thats it then. I never want to see flag again. Get those damn holes filled!

Nothing says patriotism more than vandalising your own country, eh?

Well they weren’t going to fill the potholes anyway so this is a meaningless comparison

Don’t remove them then and if you really feel you need to, do the potholes first?

Stop taking the flags down and fill the holes instead. Pretty obvious decision to make.

They should have sprayed the flags in the potholes if removing flags is a priority.

How comes they can remove flags but not fix potholes then? I know one is dangerous, environmentally damaging and costly to fix my car etc.. The other is our national flag, likely flown or drawn badly in an inappropriate place, but harming no one other than feelings, maybe. But let’s get the health and safety guy to spend thousands justifying removing paint or fabric, and celebrate this wastage becuase it suits our politics.
How much are they paying the replace light bulbs in parliament still!? Maybe we should fire the contractors (how much is your local council paying them yearly – like g4s, a few billionaires creaming it in) and hire some of these cheaper migrants we hear about?
Or fire the politicians that tell us they can’t fix a pot hole, but then justify removing a flag costing the same as 200 pot holes they can’t fix (whilst gloating that they removed multiple flags)
How is any of this helping anyone or our nation? Waste of time, distraction, divisive politics

Why does one of these things get done in days and one takes years? One of them is a genuine danger to people (especially motorcycles).
More utter bollocks from the council.

Let’s paint flags on all the potholes then?
Hopefully that will kick the councils up the arse and actually fix them.
