Cool that pirates are still around! They failed in Germany after they became just another gender queer trans party watching my little pony episodes in breaks of events.

    2. Probably the best description of the Czech political parties.

“czech TEMU Trump” – that was an instant coffee spit for me

The Czech political landscape is quite possibly one of the most depressing ones in Europe.

Worth mentioning that SPD and Enough are heavily pushing for straight up leaving the EU and NATO. YES 2011 is all about shittalking both the EU and NATO but claims they don’t want to leave. Motorists are all about leaving but being a little bitch about it, evading the questions with “I dunno, but EU ultramega bad and if it continues to be bad then I dunno, I dunno, man, maybe leaving? But I can’t tell you rn”, same with NATO.

All are against helping Ukraine or increasing the European defense, with SPD and Enough going very openly with “russia is not my enemy, Ukraine is!”, Motorists evading the questions but spreading shit that’s essentially “Ukraine started it” and “Ukraine should surrender”

ANO is as pro EU as SPOLU, which means not much but still. Also, there is no Project 2025 behind ANO, no ideology or grand plan whatsoever.

Well at least (populist) leftism doesn’t seem popular in Czechia, so maybe that’s a little light in the tunnel.

since stacilo and socdem are allied, wouldn’t they have to pass 8% to gain representation?

    9. Particular_Dress5273 on

WTF is this list, holy cow. And I thought that my goverment is a complete shitshow (Ukrainian lad here).

    10. Bonkers_Reality on

Motorists? Like car drivers? Bike riders type of dudes?

It’s kinda mindblowing that Czechia somehow managed to develop an even worse and more dysfunctional political scene than Poland.

    12. the_mighty_peacock on

Having no clue about Czech politics, from this alone Czechia is so cooked lol.

    13. Pirates according to their words try to be around center, they are a little to the left in some opinions and little to the right in others, depending on what topic you’ll discuss with them. Also had only minor issues with legal system compared to massive corruption in other parties.

Lol, gotta love the “extremely biased” disclaimer 😂. Seriously though, the descriptions are brutally honest. How’s YES 2011 still racking up 30.9% with that vibe? Feels like every election everywhere is turning into a “pick your flavor of chaos” fest. Stay sane, Czech friends!

    15. Queasy-Ad-8083 on

Strongly biased poll by SPOLU ass licker. All of these parties suck hard and SPOLU is definitely not a difference, it’s a corrupt mafia and not “necessary evil”.

    16. WonderfulEagle7096 on

Might be worth mentioning these party ratings are made by a left-wing liberal. Nothing wrong with that, but let’s be clear that this is not an objective, impartial list.

    17. And_who_would_you_be on

Also worth noting that the self-described communist party has no left wing policies or stances. Matter of fact they are all too at home in cahoots with the most extreme far right and fascist elements in the country.

    18. DVMirchev on

Please, someone, do that for every election in every EU country!

    19. SnooBooks1701 on

The Pirates and Mayors and Independents sound like two half of the UK Lib Dems

    20. The ironic thing is that the PSD is led by a Japanese guy. Imagine ranting against the “damn foreigners” if you are a foreigner yourself.

    21. KSPReptile on

      We are fucked.

ANO will likely form the next government and their choice of coalition partner will be either pro-Russian fascists, pro-Russian nazbols or pro-Russian car Nazis. Or some devil spawn combination of the above.

    22. LucarioGamesCZ on

Some further notes from a Czech:

      – Before you doom about how we only have right wing parties, it should be noted that the primary division isn’t right vs left but pro-western vs pro-russian. Something like ANO (Money printer go brr auth left) and Pirates (greens-like pro-western lib left) have pretty much nothing in common while the latter and SPOLU (“””deep-state””” right) were in a coalition for 3 years.

      – There was a court case about SPD and Stačilo being coalitions (a coalition needs 8 or 11% to get in) but it basically got swept because it’s too late now.

      – Demographics is the biggest reason of this. As much as some larger youtubers try to increase the youth participation with “vote for anyone as long as you vote” type of videos, the fact is that we have a large amount of seniors who lived their whole life operating on communist retirement policees and now only care about whichever party will give them the largest pension increase (even though we already have pensions proportionally much higher than in similar countries) no matter what their policies are. This will only keep getting worse because our population pyramid is pretty much inverted.

      Coalition prospects:

      – Babiš (ANO leader) said that his ideal partners are the Motorists, who might or might not even get in. That leaves him with the likeliest option – A coalition with SPD and most likely with Stačilo! support because even for him their government participation is mostly unpalatable. This government would basically look like Fidesz Hungary – Erosion of the public broadcaster, government members visiting Russia’s military parades, Ukraine bashing, blocking of sanctions in the EU, rise in corruption, scandals and so on.

      – There is a secret second ending – ANO and SPOLU coalition. SPOLU might do this to save us from the Fidesz ending, but the issue is that ANO is a [project ](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Business-firm_party)excellent at sucking out their coalition partners. 8 years back, there was a party, ČSSD which was the large centre-left party. However, ANO did exactly what ČSSD was doing but with better marketing and without the 20 years of scandals, and basically consumed them. ANO-SPOLU coalition would basically just lead to 4 more years of status quo, and then elections with ANO at 50%, SPOLU at <10% (and they are a coalition so they would have to either unite or split into ODS around 5% and the other two parties nobody gives a shit about anymore) and the Fidesz ending happening anyways.

      EU referendum prospects:

I do not think there will be one. Babiš is a cunt but he isn’t self destructive, he knows where his money is coming from. SPD/Stačilo might bitch about it but i predict that after a month or so of messy negotiations it will eventually get dropped.

If it, however, did happen, it would be BAD. We have some of the lowest EU approval in the union (for better or worse reasons) and Russia would launch the biggest misinformation campaign in it’s history. If the referendum happens, we are gone, and if that happens, we are fucked.

    23. Odd_Negotiation8040 on

I know, wrong nationality, but I read this in the voice of Adam Something.

    24. Is there no real centre-left type of Social Democratic party in Czechia? It seems a depressive selection of parties.

    25. AdvertisingFlashy637 on

Friendly reminder that these are pretty much the same voter percentages as in 2021(minus the bottom parties)

    26. “Motorists” aren’t pro-Russia or against EU. Just because they actively try to oppose stuff like GreenDeal and bureaucracy horrors doesn’t make them against EU, or God forbid NATO.

Also big factor in SPD party, is the fact that it’s leader treats it like a business company, I believe he just wants to collect funding from the state and sit in opposition forever.

“Together” likes to pretend they are conservative, but they act like leftist liberals.
