If the guy is Irish is it really outside?
Plenty of dodgy looking Twitter accounts saying that the reason the ‘big reveal’ in this scandal is being delayed until the 23rd of October is to prevent Fianna Fáil from parachuting in a replacement candidate. Even though nominations for the presidency close this Wednesday.
Strong whiff of bullshit about it all, tbh.
I totally get that the story is almost certainly some looney spreading BS but I don’t get what they want social media companies to do. If they take it all down and it then turns out to be true, what then?
It’s weird we didn’t see more outside interference in the election last year, but I guess it goes to show how little outside actors truly now about Ireland. If they really wanted a meaningful far right victory, they would have tried to interfere more in the general election. The position of President is symbolically important but in terms of actual power, does not have the pull that many who weren’t Irish would expect it to have.
I haven’t seen the rumours as I dont spend much time on Facebook or Twitter or TikTok. But whatever they are they seem to at least be giving Gavin a much needed personality. Up to now he has been like a robot to me.
I hate the far right,hate the right . Love what Jim Gavin helped our county achieve. But these rumours aren’t new . They re old and stubborn
