Well this will lead to a lower number of tourists comming
About time
Shouldn’t be an issue, basically already have to do this if you’re flying domestically. If you’ve gotten TSA precheck, you’ve already done this.
the fuck
Good

A short interview at passport check would be appropriate as well!
This isn’t for Americans. Brits, Canadians, Australians, Ukrainians & others will have to do this as well.
Not a big deal as long as it’s automated and working properly throughout the Schengen zone.
Thank God I’m not going through Lisbon.
Americans know that foreigners have done this at US airports for years, right?
Does this count for people going to a US base in Germany?

This says exempt, but wouldn’t the EU want to track all foreigners movements not just tourists?
If I were the EU, I would also want to know EXACTLY which Americans are entering my country as well. Half of them are pedophiles or felons.
> The change comes as the European Union rolls out its new Entry/Exit System for not just Americans but all visitors from outside Europe’s Schengen Area, a group of countries that allows people in the zone to travel across borders freely without going through customs checks.
I understand that it’s an American media company writing to the US audience, but still wish they would’ve made the title clearer to convey what’s actually happening.
Between 1 and 2% of humans have unreadable fingerprints due to medical conditions or genetics. That makes this a pretty bad idea.
The USA prints you at their border.
I see how this could help possibly solve a crime or prevent someone entering that shouldn’t but shouldn’t the first step of this be recording the fingerprints in the passport somehow.
Brits too. I’m not particularly happy with it.
