I also read a while back we’re on course for pensions to bankrupt the country by 2036.
We’re on course for a spicy timeline.

Better get a 4th, 5th and 6th runway in at Heathrow.
If your economy has no wage growth you’re going to end up robbing Peter to pay Paul. This is why most governments undertake major and painful economic reform early in their first term.
Reeves has left a really mess for whoever inherits that role now.

This should be clear to everyone not in the very wealthy category and low income is starting to feel like a lot of people (or will be) – heavy inflation, food prices, fuel prices, car prices, restaurant prices, all on route to the stars – I have a pretty good job I think but its very clear the bank balance is not as healthy now as it was 12 months ago and significantly worse than pre covid. Unless we can find a way to start making energy and food cheaper again it is clearly only going one way from here. I dont even want to think about retirement, I cant even face into the cat I need to work til I’m 67 or whatever before it kicks in from the gov- I already feel worn down by work

Our highstreets are no longer high streets, they are just streets
Shops boarded up or turned into residential.
No where to buy a loaf of bread, but that will be 100million GBP per loaf in 20 years time. We will be like Zimbabwe’s crisis from 20 years ago

Yep, it’s only going to get worse I’m afraid. We’re only another 6 months away from the annual council tax, travel, water and other bill increases in April.
Minimum wage will be increased again in April too, so that’s your food bill up again no doubt.
Another 5 years of this and it’s going to be very difficult for a lot of people in this country to make ends meet.
I dread to think what rent will look like in 5 years time.

Billionaire wealth is exploding while everyone gets poorer, must be a total coincidence. We just need to get politicians to play a game of monopoly and tell us why one person ending up with all the money and everyone else with nothing is a well designed economy.

Hey, look, we’re finally ahead of schedule of something as a country.
