Seems perfectly sensible. There is no need whatsoever for campfires in the UK.

It’s shit cause campfires are awesome but if everyone did it on our limited land it would be a disaster.
To say nothing off the appalling litter people leave.
If you want genuine bush camping I cannot recommend Scandinavia or the states enough. So much space you’re good to just find some land and be responsible with a fire.

Wild camping is illegal in England anyway, so this is hardly shocking.

To further lower the risks of people lighting them it would be worth having more shops which sell camping stoves and gas canisters then they can’t use the excuse of not being able to find a stove
