Hungarians greeted them with frantic waving.
Hungarian pilots did exactly what they were trained to do. This kind of coordination among NATO allies shows that the Baltic states aren’t isolated, and any provocations won’t go unanswered.
“Earlier, Swedish Defense Minister Pål Jonson announced that Swedish forces will take action to engage and shoot down any Russian aircraft that violate the country’s airspace.”
Can they do that? Decide this on their own? They’re part of NATO since 2024, right? Wouldn’t that trigger NATO if they then get attacked by Russia too?
Lol why is this downvoted, *I’m asking a question* but you do you I guess
Nothing makes me feel safer than Hungarian jets intercepting russian warplanes infringing on EU space.
EDIT: As this is reddit: I’m being sarcastic, I greatly doubt Hungary’s commitment to defending NATO and EU. *Greatly*.
SHOOT. THEM. DOWN.
The Russians as reported were “near” Latvian airspace, not inside it like in the Estonian incursion.
But, should NATO start shooting down Russian planes in international airspace just to prove its manhood?
