Might question that statement; it assumes Putin is logical or reasonable. We know he is neither.
Well yes and if wishes were horses beggars would ride none of us should be shocked that the circle of protection around totalitarian dictators has no interest in helping them to act in a sane manner.
As tempting as it is to blame Putin for all of the evils of Russia that is short sighted and unrealistic my fear hinges on what happens to Russia when Putin finally goes. One Putin is back enough but 10 younger and more vicious Putin wannabes is infinitely more terrifying
