I honestly hope he will sit it out all the way until peace. I know it might be hard on him, but I think it would be best.

      – I don’t think any other person would have been able to find allies and get them to support Ukraine in the way he has. If it had been anyone else, I think it would’ve been likely that Russia would’ve just taken Ukraine in the early days of the war. So similarly, if someone else gets elected during ceasefire, his successor might not be able to move the EU and US to help in the way he has done so far.

      – Do you really think that Russia will respect the ceasefire if it knows that an election will take place during that period?

Then again, Putin might be delighted to hear this, as he wanted to push Zelensky out of the government as part of this war. So who knows? This statement might lead to a (probably false) ceasefire, just to get him out of the government. But unless the successor is a Russian puppet, I doubt that such a ceasefire would wind up being the end of the war.

I think elections during the ceasefire, in which he would no longer participate, would be a mistake.

How could they run elections with a fifth of the country under occupation and unable to vote? Not to mention the number of refuges strewn around the world?

He has been the Churchill of our time. Not perfect. Not without faults. But the right person all the same. Skava Ukraini! 🇨🇦❤️🇺🇦

Real Leaders do all they can for their people and then leave the job for the next person whom the people choose willingly.

      Honorable choice.

Literally the worst job in the world, how’d you think Trump would hold up with this cards?

Would be curious if anyone following more closely has ideas about potential candidates.

It’s sad to think that he and his family are going to have to have massive security around them for maybe 2 generations. The ruzzians are so fucked that they will definitely never try to stop hunting him

    9. I really hope he will step down in dignity and as soon as possible so he can cement his hero status, Ukrainians need a hero leader in textbooks for generations to come.
We had Lech Wałęsa – who was such a hero but completely destroyed his own legacy by some stupid ridiculous post on social media.

He’s been working so hard for Ukraine for 3+ years and has been living away from his family. I hope he can have a well deserved extended vacation with them when the war is over and they can get back to living together.
