Lawyer, even though it looks fishy (is this from Mannheim or Heidelberg?).

~~Go there listen to what they say and tell them what is true. If the time does not work for you tell them. But you have to go else they will come get you.~~

~~If you think it is fake, look up the number in the phone book and ask them. But why would a scammer tell you to go to the police station?~~

~~BTW: You just need to present yourself there and do not need to say anything except showing your id. 😉 You can always get a lawyer afterwards.~~

Apparently I was wrong please read other comments.

No scammer will summon you to the Criminal inspection. Your best bet is to go there and understand what you are being accused of.

P.S. Okay, I am wrong. Please read other comments. I was putting focus on the “real” part.

    “… wegen Straftat …”
    Something smells fishy here.

I see it’s the department handling sexual crimes. This may give you a clue what it is about

Contrary to the suggestions to go i would advise you not to go and consult with a lawyer instead. It will be registered as ‘no comment’ but not as evidence against you. You dont even seem to know what youre accused off. By going and giving testimony, you can only implicate you especially if you didn’t consult with a lawyer first.

They can request the files and look over them with you.

Another r/germany classic where someone posts a letter asks what to do while the letter states exactly what to do…

  8. I find it a bit odd that they just write “Straftat” as the offense they invite you in for. Shouldn’t that contain the actual paragraph and time?

Anyway, I think this is just an invitation, not a summon, so you do not have to go.

I would maybe call them, ask what this is about and then decide if you want to give a statement without a lawyer present. Usually it’s best to lawyer up before making any kind of statement, though.

Derzernat 2 is for „Sexualdelikte“.. So it might be something with sexual harassment. Get a lawyer ASAP.

Call and ask if the letter is real. The wording doesn’t sound authentic.

Get a lawyer and ensure that lawyer informs police in time that you will not come for appointment + lawyer should ask for inspection of file.

That looks pretty real to me. It just looks a bit dodgy because someone filled the gap in the preprint with the generic term Straftat instead of the specific crime you are accused of.

If you feel unsure about that, you are always free to get a lawyer

They got you on camera grabbing that girls booty…

The good about german jurisdiction is: you don‘t have to blame yourself, hence you do not need to go to the police. Only of the Staatsanwaltschaft calls you for a hearing, you are required to go or if you are invited as a witness (but sometimes a witness hearing will switched to a acused hearing during the appointment).

Get a lawyer and send a short reply to the police, that you won‘t follow their invite (but nothing else)

The summons does not come from the public prosecutor’s office, only from the police, and therefore you do not have to comply with it.just Dont go there. Tell them you dont come and if you get another letter better take a lawyer. Dont Talk to the police is the golden rule here

I would go, listen what they want, make no comments unless I can prove it wasn’t me. In case things are not clear I’d get a lawyer. Maybe it ist just a mix up and you can easily get this done by proving you where out of the country. Lawyers cost money and if it wasn’t you why spend it?🤷‍♂️

It says Sexualdelikte at the top, so this is most likely something about sexual harassment, sexual assault or something similar.

I doesn’t matter if you have a clue or not what this is about, this is serious and you need a lawyer as soon as possible.
