Almost like outsourcing your critical IT system security for the lowest possible price is a terrible idea.

Almost as if outsourcing invites tons of IT and managerial issues because of time zones and checks notes; culture clashes and weakened outsourced security
Outsourcing is a blight in western society, worse than the threat of AI.
These companies only care about shareholder value and not supporting their home grown employees and letting them contribute to their growth.
I am done with supporting companies that outsource.

This failure was just the start. They still shouldn’t have been able to compromise so many other systems so easily. I’m guessing a lot of the internal systems were pretty insecure and easily hacked with ready to go scripts. Pretty poor all round.

Colour me surprised.
HOWEVER… JLR should have a CISO in place that should be overseeing all of this… no?

Well….you get what you pay for, i suppose. The real losers in all this are the people getting sacked, not because it was their fault, but because that scared margin has to be moved back up.

Indian parent company of JLR hires itself to do “outsourced” IT work from India, is security compromised. Who could possibly have forseen that selling off everything in this country to foreign billionaires would work out so poorly.
