Identical situation but on buses was called by us students “windsurfing”… dangling from the side of the bus, holding on to a vertical metal bar, with body leaning out at 45 degrees angle… with wind… it really was similar. Not as pleasant, though during winter in -25C…
I wasn’t born back then, but whoever has nostalgia for those times, they likely miss their youthful years, not the period itself, since the 80’s (and 90’s) were pretty rough in Romania.
What I really want to say is that never in its history Romania hasn’t been as prosperous as it is now within the embrace of the European Union, so thank you for having us, we’ll play our part as well!

Some things were better. Some were worse. This tram definitely was worse.

I assume the tram wasn’t going very fast, but that doesn’t look safe.
