Well yes. What is the point of having a military if you are going to just use it to watch the other side?
Most of western civilization supports to shot down Russian jets in NATO airspace and over Ukraine.

That we even have to discuss it. If an enemy aircraft is in NATO airspace, it must of course be shot down.
Why is that in question?
