52% of the population voted for Brexit. Those people are now voting Cons and Reform, with a combined % of 48%. All too expected.
Party that can promise anything knowing they’ll never have to deliver is currently more popular than a government trying to fix 14 years of shit mismanagement?
Amazing.
Labour wanted to be Tory lite, and rushed through the OSA đÂ
Shame for Reform there isn’t another general election until 2029 then eh? Oh dear, how sad, never mind.
-edit- added “general” for the pedants
That fucking idiot Farage is somewhat to blame for brexit, claiming it will stop immigration. Itâs made it worse. Not labour. And somehow all the news is showing these days is fucking doom and gloom and immigration. Those Tory cunts are to blame for this shit show. And renaming yourself reform seems to be your get out of jail free card.
Labour has 4 years to turn this around otherwise weâre going to absolutely utterly fucked.
Great news is this why starmer has come out and called reformers racist today?
It is a bit like Labour is trying to look really shit and appeal to nobody in particular. They should get rid of Starmer and his advisors as soon as possible. They’d then maybe have time for a rebrand to settle in and make progress before 2029.
I don’t believe it, what’s Ipsos hidden agenda here giving prominence to Farage and Reform?
Going after pensioners, the sick and disabled, the online safety act and implementing digital ID’s and they wonder why they’re haemorrhaging votes, support and popularity.
Gary’s Economics had a good video on this recently.
The cost of living continues to get worse and so far Labour are just acting like diet Tories with no improvements in sight.
Meanwhile Reform give people an easy target (“blame immigrants!”) and because they haven’t been in power before have the benefit of being able to make promises without any previous failures.
If Labour continue their current approach then it’s likely the cost of living will worsen and more people will look to more extreme parties like Reform for answers.
It’s very depressing.
You have a manifesto that gets you two thirds of parliament.
You spend a year doing at best nothing or actually the literal opposite of the manifesto. You hit record low ratings.
If only someone could look at these two data points and tell us Labour what to do to be popular? I guess we will never know.
It’s ok Starmer has called them racist. Voters will now flood back to Labour.
Doubling down and dastardly policies will do that to your popularity.
Reform doesnât lead shit, they donât and wonât even get enough grifters to field in every constituency
Oh sure, let Reform take over. Slash immigration, and magically all our problems disappear. Brexit wasnât enough, so here comes the final nail in the coffin.
They scrutinise and ridicule everything the government does and headline selective positive news for reform.
When the conservatives were in power, that scrutiny and ridicule was still on Labour in opposition, and negative opinions of conservatives were labelled as un-patriotic and âdoing the country downâ.
The use of media to attack Labour is such a weapon
Was it Maggie who said – no government has any business being popular in their first two years? As in get the hard stuff done early and the popular before the next election.
A dumb ass party Party who promised everything and delivered on nothing and in fact made it worse telling every not to vote for a competitor and will go ahead and put into law the most hated disposable options no one wanted because they know they will loose the next vote, who knew.
I’m waiting for them to put us forward to re-join the EU without telling anyone and getting us the worst joining options available, hey because at least we’re back in… And let the next party suffer the consequences.
Nah, they donât lead anything other than trumped up polls. 3 and a half years until the next election. Theyâll be a dead duck by then.
Whether we like it or not, Labour has made living standards worseâŚ
Inflation is up, Rents are up, Energy bills are up, Council tax is up, Winter fuel allowance scrapped for many, National Insurance hikes for businesses led to job losses and insecurity, I lost my job after 18 years, Targeting the disabled on benefits
Theyâre also pushing, Digital ID, disguised as âtackling immigrationâ but it runs much deeper than you thinkâŚ
Online Safety Act, disguised as âprotecting childrenâ from porn websites.
Mass uncontrolled immigration that the majority of this country didnât ask or vote for.
And letâs not ignore the two tier policing and justice system weâre now seeing.
No smart person can genuinely look at what Reform has promised and think that resolves any issues.
I know it’s 4 years until the next election and anything could happen between now and then but I do think the fundamental brand of this government is busted. I say this as someone that thought Starmer would be a good PM, and in lots of ways he is (if it was 2010 maybe). But in this age, right now, with the threats we face he’s not what we need.
I don’t understand the panic. Labour will turn the PR machine on closer to an election.
I wish we had a proper anti immigration party to vote for, Farage is controlled opposition and won’t change anything
This country will collapse under reform. Country can’t be run by a demagogue. There’s only so much you can lie before there are severe consequences
