Protestava oggi il governo degli Stati Uniti e i militari di genocidio a Gaza al gioco della NFL a Croke Park a Dublino. Sono stato trattenuto da 4 o 5 gardaí, le mie borse mi hanno tolto e perquisite per strada e poi minacciate di arresto per un "offensiva" cartello. Il mio segno è stato distrutto dal Gardaí e ho dovuto lasciare la zona, e se tornassi sarei stato arrestato immediatamente.

Kinda flys in the face of us looking down on the US for restricting freedom of speech or expression. I’d say Patrick Kielty felt a disturbance in the force as your sign was destroyed.
Are there laws against signs in the park? If not, do you have freedom of speech in Ireland?

That’s weird. Causing offence is not a crime.
If they had said something about it being likely to cause a breach of the peace I might have understood the thinking.
But it should be ok to hold that sign even if it causes offence.
