Da quando ho lasciato gli Stati Uniti, una delle domande più comuni che mi vengono poste quando incontri qualcuno di nuovo è “Ti manca avere Walmart? Ho sentito che era aperto 24 ore. Non lo facciamo qui in Germania”. Sto visitando i miei genitori per la settimana e vivono in una piccola città di 600 persone. Erano così entusiasti di portarmi in macchina e mostrarmi quest’ultima notte lol. Dopo un po ‘di googling che ho fatto, questi smart store automatizzati stanno iniziando a diventare una tendenza in crescita. Le uniche cose che abbiamo avuto nella mia città che sono 24 ore sono la nostra palestra e un distributore di distribuzione lol

Usually they are (like the one you saw) in rural areas, where regular stores cannot be operated in a economally valuable manner.
Instead of just vanishing like in the past, they now build these one.
People from around the area buy shares for 100€ to get the entry card.
This gets you 24/7 acess.
When the store is opened they can also vote to vary the items in the store.
In a village near my city we had a legendary minced meat (“Mett”) cooled vending machine. They since have expanded to a whole go-in smart store. Pretty neat!
Mannheim hbf has had one for a little while now. You need to scan your EC/debit card to get in.
