It doesnβt look bad till you sort by age bracket in places like Spain and realize youth unemployment is horrendous.

Ukraine, at war, 15%, Bosnia and Hercegovina, no war, 13%

This is completely wrong!! The unemployment rate in Denmark is 2.9% and that in reality also counts people that should be on disability or long time sick leave.
I m surprised that Spain Finland and Sweden have higher unemployment rates than TΓΌrkiye. Is the situation bad there too?

Germany should actually be around 6%.

In Poland is much higher. The People often dont go to Polish work agency as I do for example.

Is unemployment rate measured homogeneously across the EU?

Β 3x4h / month contract payed like slaves should not be considered as “job”. This map would be kind of different.

Sweden and Finland would be so screwed if another global financial crisis hit.

This map is flawed at best. In my country the rate is under 3%. The map says 6.6

I like maps like the next guy, but OP should have indicated a precise data source and the methodology definition of unemployment. Job seekers? People who are not working but are below the retirement age? People who qualify for unemployment benefits?
ironedie on
That’s overly optimistic, in Poland it’s already over 5 percent.
Im slovak and we always joke that we are bad at everything so now seeding that we arent worst at something is weird

Well, then I guess it’s not really useful, when there is no explanation on how or which method used. When I say that in dk the rate is under 3%, its of the workforce (had to look it up). But as you say, of course it can be done in different ways.
Why Ukraine so high doesnt they basically have infinite jobs?

ermm when is this data from? according to statistics Denmark the unmployment rate is 2.9%. Your map says 6.6%

While half of Sweden, I would argue the Norwegian numbers are a bit wrong. As we have a higher number of “disabled status” people in Norway than Sweden.
Honestly more interesting to see the percentage of working age people actually working, rather than unemployment numbers.

Ukraine is strange to me… youd expect full employment and then some in a time of war

As a Czech person I can confirm – hiring new people is a nightmare. But it does put pressure on companies to increase salaries at least. Itβs slow progress, but there is some.
