Lads, has anybody noticed that the economy seems to get worse when GDP goes up? I’m honestly not sure anymore why we want it to.

Since we cannot deliver strategic infrastructure projects and waste enormous amounts of money on schemes such as HAP, it won’t make any difference to the general population.

I have stopped caring about this country’s GDP. And the need to keep MNCs here too. What is the point if the population doesn’t benefit? Maybe if they left, the government would be forced to actually focus on the well-being of the populace.

Why do people in here get mad whenever GDP rises? No it’s not directly correlated with the relative economic health of the country and is, as such, modified or disregarded when we try to quantify that. But it tells its own story – good story in this case.
Irish people love an aul moan.
