Makes sense for us to be on same time as UK, since part of our island is in it (please don’t open up the Tayto argument again).

If the EU ever decide to eliminate clock changing, we better hope the UK do it too, or it could get awkward.

Ireland should have its own time zone, running one hour behind Britain. Irish time currently results in absurd situations where there is still daylight in the West close to midnight during the summer. Note what ‘midnight’ is supposed to mean – ‘middle of the night.’

Daylight savings is also nothing more than a bizarre hangover from the First World War which should be ditched in all countries.

The theft of the 25 minutes was the worst crime the Brits ever committed against up. Right up there with partition, Cromwell and the famine.

Id love to buy an ad in the Irish times and put something like this in. Scare the bejaysus out of some people.

Interesting they referred to it as Western European Time and not something that sounded heavily royal and British. It looks like they were very much reading the room.
