He’s going to CRUSH the Reddit vote. Confident the Greens will get hundreds and hundreds of votes at the next election.

We could put him on the Kent coast with his pocket watch trying to hypnotise them to turn around

“Let’s stop the boats by introducing a free ferry service with a cup of tea for the journey” – the green party basically

      >  “We absolutely need to stop the boats,” Polanski said, “but let’s stop the boats by offering safe and legal routes to asylum and not having people clinging on to dinghies for dear life.”

The greens are too busy reaching around and patting each other on the back by only talking about trans people and boat people. No one else, he’s literally a marzipan dildo.

“We must stop the boats: because the quantities of people we intend to have immigrate will require a bridge!”

If anyone here hasn’t read the article but already slating him for it, he is right. Stop the boats by allowing them to claim asylum form another country. That is the only to really stop the boats. Make an actual legal route to claim asylum, then anyone crossing by boat probably doesn’t have a legal claim. To me now only the Green Party are aligned with my official views.

    9. Can they really stop it? Other countries have been dealing with boats for decades.

He the guy that told women he can make their boobs bigger with his mind?

Doesn’t saying that make him far right extremist Nazi grifter?

    12. Isn’t this their problem in a nutshell? They think the issue is small boats, so simply want to fly them in instead. He’ll be shocked to find out that people’s actual issue is that these people are allowed to come at all.

      The Greens migration policy:

      Some key points:

MG100. The Green Party wants to see a world without borders, until this happens the Green Party will implement a fair and humane system of managed immigration where people can move if they wish to do so.

MG101. The Green Party believes that migration is not a criminal offence under any circumstances.

MG103. The Green Party is opposed to forced migration and forced repatriation unless standard exclusions apply.

MG309. Unless standard exclusions apply, no person will be held in detention because of their immigration status.

MG400. All arrivals to the UK without a visa will be granted a visitor visa for a period of three months regardless of where they have come from unless standard exclusions apply. They will then have this period of time to apply for a different visa if they so wish.

MG509. Visa residents will have the right to bring members of their family to the UK who would normally live with them in their country of origin, or would do so if it were permitted by law or custom.

All of this amounts to literally anyone who comes to the UK automatically gets a 3 month visa. Then they cannot be deported. The Greens solution to the boats is to simply let anyone and everyone in, no questions asked. HOW exactly does any of this help?

    14. Alternative-Target40 on

That is vile and racist. What UK needs is to embrace open borders and let destitute people seek a better life over here, without enacting any barriers to their entry.

      The boats aren’t the problem.

Dealing with the backlog and not processing people is the problem.

Bearing in mind that 95% of people coming into the country don’t seem to be a problem for the govt or councils or individuals.

    17. Pheanturim on

I’m so bored of hearing about the boats as if net migration being a problem isn’t completely led by legal migration instead of boat trips.

Fine if you think migration is a problem I can understand your perspective but you are being told to focus on the boats instead of the overall situation and you are focusing on the smallest aspect

    18. LemonImportant7040 on

The problem is not the boats and he knows it. The problem is the migrants we don’t want them bro be it by sea or air

    19. TheCharalampos on

Maybe 10% of folks here actually read articles. Sorry sight to see to be honest.

    20. Kraken_Kool on

People in this sub really be pretending that this isn’t literally how the asylum system used to work until the distant past of 2022.

    21. Material_Angle2922 on

The government genuinely knew that majority, if not all of those, who crossed the channel are simply escaping poverty, which is not a valid reason for asylum.

    22. CarlxtosWay on

If allowing asylum seekers to claim asylum from abroad (which is what these “safe and legal routes” would entail) is such a common sense solution – why has no other country in Europe implemented this policy?

The reason why asylum seekers risk their lives crossing the Mediterranean in boats is because they have physically be in the EU/Europe to make their applications.

    23. Most of those thread is about the boats. But you know what? For a huge proportion of the country, immigration/asylum seekers aren’t even in their top ten political priorities. The Greens don’t need to fight the election on immigration or small boats, they won’t win that kind of voter regardless.
