So what primary legislation is he going to pass to do this?
Because if this isn’t done with ironclad primary legislation, it will just be overruled/rendered ineffective by the courts as with all other attempts to change the rules surrounding asylum rights and deportations.
This is where governments (the current government and the Tories before them) keep getting it wrong, they’re too afraid to do what actually needs to be done: significantly changing the law (including how the human rights act is interpreted) and passing an act of parliament that neuters the courts’ powers to block deportations and gives vastly more power to the home office to reject asylum cases and deport failed asylum seekers illegal immigrants, non-citizens who commit serious crimes, etc.
