Is it any good? Ostensibly sounds yum. Nigeria has the largest Guinness brewery outside Ireland IIRC?
Always curious about these regional offerings other countries get of our “stuff”; like the German supermarkets replete with KerryGold yoghurts and whatnot.

Try it and tell us how it is. Never seen it before but I’d guess it’s just a non alcoholic version of the carbonated porter

I’ve bad memories of my mother buying similar malt drinks for us as kids.
She grew up in Cuba, and her ma’s family was all from Jamaica. So apparently it was just a thing down there in the Afro Caribbean world to give your kids.
She was so excited to find some one day. Shades of her happy childhood. Malta Goya, in a little stubby brown bottle with a bright yellow label. Super low alcohol percentage. Super terrible flavour.
Even now I can feel the thick, gross, flavour/texture in my mouth. Foamy, but heavy, and a sourness that reminds me of vomit. It was like an awful beer. And as a kid that was an instant no. My sisters and I all hated it. I think my ma drank them all.

When I get to a new place I love checking out all the weird variations of beer they have
Not long back from Turkey and those lads have like 20 different types of Tuborg

Racist nurses in a local hospital reported a Nigerian doctor for drinking on the job when they saw him with this. The hospital managers told him he must stop. Meanwhile, cans of Monster are fine.

Had it before. Didn’t mind it!

Save yourself the hardship and just don’t,
Something I’ve come to realise in my 30 odd years on this planet. If a regional thing hasn’t spread to the rest of the world in the modern day and age of Globalisation there’s a good reason. This is no exception. Vile would be how I describe it

A less polished version of supermalt. An acquired taste. If you like Nigerian Guinness you’ll be okay. If you prefer normal Guinness it’ll be quite punchy.

A colleague gave me the same one before. I did a double take when I saw her drinking Guinness in work. She was happy to share. Nigerians, a great bunch of lads!

Its very sweet and kinda an odd sensation when drinking it.
I think there is a good reason it never took off over here .

This is a pretty big thing in Germany too. My Granny always had a crate for the little ones in her cellar.
I’ve had this in Malaysia, where a brewery brews this and presumably the non-alcoholic version on the side. An acquired taste, to say the least.

Just had a bottle from the ethnic food shop yesterday. They’re very sweet and malty. There are multiple brands to choose from and very much worth a try. Not everyone’s cup of tea, but you may just love it.

Love it, drink it all the time. Packed full of vitamins and minerals, it makes a great post-workout drink.
