The same Waterford councillors that have spent millions on a bridge from the city centre across the river to the new shopping centre in Ferrybank, who are now objecting to the shopping centre opening… because it will divert footfall away from the city centre!?

      ACROSS THE BRIDGE THEY BUILT!

These people are idiots, this won’t happen and if it does they will make a balls of it.

Not sure it would be a success tbh, given the airport wasn’t exactly doing amazing even before the M9. Its peak was 144K PAX in 2008, which compared to the other airports at the same time, was basically nothing. Even now closed Galway Airport, very close to Shannon and Knock, had more at its peak the year previous with 309K PAX

However, I don’t think it would be a bad thing if it was built. Can only be good for the people of the South East

The minister of transport Darragh O’Brien will now declare this is proof of the private sector being best for infrastructure development. Rather than acknowledging that the Dept did its best to not do anything significant for years.
