Two days ago on Oct 1, Ukraine marked Defenders Day — a tribute to those who stand guard on the frontlines.
Infantry of the 10th Separate Mountain Assault Brigade “Edelweiss” prepares for combat deployment: wrapping green tape, packing rations and cigarettes. One soldier, call sign “Third”, adds a bag of candy for the next 10–12 days.
“It feels like war doesn’t even exist anymore — you just get used to it. Ordinary days. It’s scary, but you go. Everyone feels the same.”
