Why is our military so incompetent? Why aren’t any of our military leaders brought up?

    3. So a whole continent can be shut down due to some drones.

With all the knowledge of this tech and its capabilities, it’s embarrassing there STILL isn’t a protocol for handling this other than shutting airports down.

Imagine how cheap and easy it would be to simply cripple Europe air travel with this. Easiest sabotage operation imaginable.

      # Why Munich Airport Doesn’t Shoot Down Drones

      1. **Legal Barriers**: Current German law doesn’t allow police or military to shoot down drones in civilian airspace. The Bundeswehr can only act over military sites, and police lack the legal authority.
      2. **Safety Risks**: Munich Airport is in a densely populated area. Using kinetic weapons (like guns or lasers) could cause collateral damage, injuring people or causing chaos.
      3. **Uncertainty**: It’s hard to quickly determine if a drone is a toy, a spy tool, or a threat. Jamming or spoofing could disrupt airport systems or emergency communications.
      4. **Coordination Issues**: No one has clear authority to pull the trigger. Police must request military aid, which takes time and legal clearance.
      5. **Ongoing Efforts**: Germany is working on laws to allow shooting down drones in extreme cases and is setting up a national drone defense center. Until then, closure is the safest option.

      # TL;DR:

**Legal restrictions, safety concerns, and coordination issues make shooting down drones too risky.**
