La tendenza decrescente del consumo totale di elettricità in Belgio è evidente anche nei suoi paesi vicini. Ad eccezione dei Paesi Bassi, il carico totale è diminuito nel 2023 in tutti i paesi osservati. Questa diminuzione è iniziata nel 2021, dopo che tutti i paesi hanno avuto un breve aumento della domanda di elettricità a seguito dei livelli record nel 2020, a seguito della pandemia di Covid-19 e delle conseguenti misure di confinamento. L’evoluzione della domanda di elettricità nei paesi selezionati, indicizzata rispetto ai loro valori del 2015, è mostrata nella Figura 1-4.

Deindustrialising the continent and moving production offshore to save the climate and ruin small businesses who can’t afford it. Just ask your local warm bakery how much they spend on electricity and gas 🙂
Pretty sure it’s related to energy hungry industry decreasing/stopping their activities and the relatively big increase of solar and batteries.
Industries consume a about 50% of electricity produced in Belgium while for households it’s less than 25%.
An AI data center would fix that. 😹
I thought we were supposed to electrify our industry to combat climate change, pushing people to use electricity instead of burning fossil fuels. But apparently we are using less electricity? I don’t understand.
