The Rabbi went to Israel to help the IDF murder children and commit a genocide.

He’s a security threat and definitely not becoming of a chaplain.

The guy actively chose to re-enlist, doesn’t seem like a great moral choice.

      >”You should be protecting people. You should be protecting students from **this kind of animal,** because if he’s willing to kill people over there, how do you know he’s not going to kill your students over here?”

      >Separately, Ali apologised for the “short sightedness” of a post he made the day after the 7 October attacks, where he said “indigenous people have the right to fight back” and called for an end to “white supremacist European settler colonialism”.

      >Speaking to the BBC, Ali argued he had not been referencing the Hamas attack on Israeli civilians – killing about 1,200 people and taking 251 hostages.

Contrast the tone between talking about a Jew who was involved in the conflict and the Muslim involved in the conflict.

Observe that while the majority of Jews in Israel are descended from refugees from Muslim majority countries, Mr Ali regards them are “European” “white” and “settler colonists”. Any Jew who went to defend their country is an “animal”.

      >”We shouldn’t conflate what’s happening in Israel to British Jews her – I think that is irresponsible.

Yet any Jew who shows any kind of solidarity with Israel is a “Zionist”. We regularly see calls for violence on them,

Mr Ali believes Jews can be grouped into those who are obedient to Muslims and reject any kind of Jewish state and those who are not, who are animals. We have just seen an attack on disobedient Jews who were supporting Israel, the synagogue in Manchester.

So we must treat such Jews as “animals” according to Mr Ali. But he seems “surprised” when Jihadis then try to intervene in the “genocide” by attacking the “animals” facilitating it.

      >Green Party leader Zack Polanski stood by Ali in an interview on the morning of the party’s annual conference, saying his views needed to seen in context that “this Rabbi went off to fight for the IDF, he was actively recruiting for people to engage in a genocide”.

“Settler colonism”, “Europeans”, “animals”, “genocide”. These are their views of disobedient Jews. Now they cry that it is conflating Jews with Israel to say people who hold such views should refrain from protesting for a couple of days?

if anything is worthy of having a Shamima Begum done on their British citizenship, surely leaving UK soil to participate in genocide is up there

    5. I think the Green party can do better.

He did a good thing helping during a car crash or something like that but he doesn’t strike me as the brightest bulb.

The Greens have been courting the Islamic vote for too long. They’re clearly not aligned with the rest of the Left, just happy to wave the minority flag whilst practicing backwards repressive values, and wanting to push those values into politics so they affect non-Muslims too.

Honestly, pushing the argument for native people to fight back. The sheer brazenness of this guy being a Bangladeshi in the UK and saying that. It’s breathtakingly stupid.

Stop letting religion be a protected characteristic. Stop being soft on people who use their religious beliefs as a crutch to allow them to do horrific things. Start taking a hardline(deportations/prison) for people who say aggressive things in the name of their religion. Start to close down any mosques, or other religious places that have extremists or any of the above linked to them. No chances. If one fucks it, everyone suffers, make their own communities police them better.

I don’t like the language of “animal” but apart from that he’s bang on. Serving in the IDF is directly supporting war crimes and arguably genocide, British citizens should not be allowed to do that and get away with it. Would we allow a dual UK/Russian citizen to serve in Ukraine and live in Leeds without repercussion? I doubt it.

This has nothing to do with him being Jewish, it is all to do with him not only supporting Israel but being an active participant in Israel’s military.

    9. catman_dave on

He makes a solid point, I would agree brits shouldn’t be allowed to fight abroad for a foreign army committing war crimes to then return home and go unpunished.

However, it is presumed there are between 150-400 british muslims went to fight for ISIS and came back. If we were to deal with IDF volunteers then there would have to be prope investigations then a reckoning about them too.

Then there is the issue of brave brits going to fight for Ukrainian legions, Kurdish defence groups etc. Not legal but morally righteous.

I think the government would rather just sweep all this under the carpet than open the massive can of worms that this is.

As a resident of Leeds I can’t wait to boot this man out of office. Its not the first time he has had to apologise for comments he has made on this topic both as a councilor and as a member of the Green Party. Its all highly suspect both for him and the Green Party who feel he is suitable to be deputy leader of their party.

He need to realise that he has been elected to serve all the people of Leeds, not to focus on purely on Islamic issues or the needs of the people of Gaza. Your an English councilor, your work and responsibilities are here. Our bus service is dire, roads in disrepair, bins need emptying, council facilities are falling apart and people cant access the services that they pay their council taxes for.

i think it’s wrong of Ali to describe the rabbi as an “animal” and I’m broadly against any “if it was another minority…” argument.

I do however think that ppl signing up to take part in a genocide, should be subject to significant scrutiny (if not prosecuted).

    12. It’s justified and this is a hit piece. ICC and UN say Israel are committing genocide. Israeli soldiers, even reservists need to be held to account. Foreign soldiers should not interact or teach students

This guy is probably the number 1 reason to not vote for the green party.
