Confine them an old Nokia with snake on it and they’ll mostly return to normal after a while. Or they’ll still be stupid eejits but you won’t have to hear from them so either way it’s a win.

    2. These days, if you say you’re Irish…you’ll be arrested and thrown in jail!

    3. The right fucking love to make strawmen arguments up and then argue with themselves about it.

They’re just pricks. I’m sure like everyone else there are those among them with mental health issues but let’s not forget the existence of the common prick

They really are such low lifes thats someone eating breakfast can be spun into a revolutionary act

A friend of mine who works in mental health passed one of these far right rallies in town. He told me he was able to recognise a good proportion of the attendees as ex service users.

    7. I miss the days when people like that would just be the old gobshite who spends too much time drinking alone in the pub.

    8. It’s the classic thing with these anti woke people and these types of posts. Nobody takes away the thing they want, just now there’s extra options to suit others. This is seen as an attack on them because having their option available isn’t enough, their option has to be the default/standard option so they can remain the “normal” people which they require because their identity is based on that.

If, heaven forbid, their options aren’t the mainstream, they feel sidelined, not normal. This scares them as they are terrified of being outcasts, mainly because they themselves have always treated outcasts terribly.

    9. Honestly it’s the most bizarre set of steps to get to this point and all of them are mad.

      – Follow a bunch of people giving off about how Ireland should be for the Irish and claiming anyone not white should just fuck off

      – See them getting told ‘it’s racist to say people aren’t Irish just because they’re black, they might have been born here’

      – ignore every word except ‘racist’ and ‘Irish’

      – go apoplectic and scream about woke lefties and how you can’t even have breakfast anymore without being racist

As someone with Bipolar, nope, it doesn’t make you racist. I don’t have schizophrenia but I’m sure those that do won’t mind me pointing out that it doesn’t make you racist either.

Try not equating mental health issues with bigots next time

Reminds me of that woman in swords who walked into a halal shop and screamed and cried about them not selling bacon. Meanwhile literally 5 minutes down the road there’s 2 butchers.

Literally just creating non existent problems.
It’s like shoving a stick in your own bike wheel then crying when you crash

I’m not sure if diagnosable mental health difficulties influence ‘racist practice’. Probably, it’s like adding fuel to ongoing fire.

But, irrespective of whether someone face mental health difficulties or not, ‘Racism is a state of mind’.

To draw a parallel, the father of Indian constitution and anti-caste leader, B.R. Ambedkar quoted,

“Caste is not a physical object like a wall of bricks or a line of barbed wire which prevents the Hindus from co-mingling and which has, therefore, to be pulled down. Caste is a notion; it is a state of the mind.”

Similarly, racism is a state of mind which can be found amongst those with sound mental health, rich flow of income and what not too. It is because of the very belief that one is superior over others.

    13. Imagine being so infested with hate that when you sit down to enjoy a nice breakfast you start to get angry at the imaginary people who think a few sausages and rashers are racist.

They, in all likelihood, do. Not born with it, but acquired.

    15. cohanson on

One of them posted on X yesterday, and created a fantasy scenario where Cathrine Connolly engaged in a conversation with that whacko Elijah Burke.

The poster literally wrote a transcript of the imaginary conversation, and then got angry about it at the end.

      Wired to the fucking moon.

The same lads having a shitfit if they see the word halal on a menu.

    17. bob_jsus on

If being an arsehole is a mental health problem then yes. But in actuality having mental health problems doesn’t make you a racist shithead. So that’s probably not fair on people with actual issues.

This really sounds like a person who stubs their toes and blames DAMN WOKE MIND VIRUS

    20. Wesley_Skypes on

I haven’t read one study on it, but knowing people in my life who have gone down weird conspiracy theory rabbitholes and gotten really consumed by them, of the 4 I know, all had mental health incidents in their early 20s. Not all racists/overtly anti-immigrant folk are conspiracy theorists and vice versa, but there is a decent overlap.

    21. nightwing0243 on

Holy shit. I have been saying for months that if these people could politicise the breakfast you eat in the morning, they would.

      I meant it in jest.

But here it is… actually happening. Wow. These motherfuckers really can’t take a single day off from it.

    22. Acrobatic_Task_4415 on

Don’t be given them an out by saying they may have ‘mental health problems’ it’s that they are racist and believe they are untouchable because of their FB echo chamber.
