I mean…sure…but… nothing makes sense, really. the more I read it, the more it reads like a person with schizophrenia and an episode of paranoia.

Are you sure you want this translated? Would personally just hand it over to the police….

The good thing is the person never directly addresses your mother. Or directly addresses anyone even.

The bad thing is this person is still crazy. They talk about dead horses, murders, being called a nazi, being made homeless, seeing connections where others don’t see them etc

The letter has been written by someone, who is either a native speaker or someone who has been speaking German for a long time. There are some of the references making me believe that the person is currently living in Germany or at least keeping up with the news. However what the person writes does not make any sense and sounds like someone having a psychosis.

If the letter was addressed to your mums maiden name it must be a distant relative or acquaintance, who speaks native German and has your mums address. From the stamp used you should be able to see from where the letter was sent. Can you think of any such person?

I would not be too worried and just hand this letter over to the police. As your mum is not referenced in the letter, most likely someone going through a mental break sending letters to random addresses they remember.

/edit: Does your mum work for some kind of media outlet and is her address publicly available by any chance? Could also be a letter by someone who does not know your mum but is thinking that she might be able to publish an article or something about this persons weird takes.

Those letters sounds like some typical conspiracy theory crap. It’s probably better to hand them to the police. Maybe they can do something with that.
