    1. Fuck Jim Gavin and landlords but now that it’s come out that it was a journalist that was the tenant it takes a bit of the fun off it and feel like they were just out to get him (deservedly so mind you)

Perhaps it’s a silly question but has he at least paid him the money he owes since this scandal broke?

At this stage i wouldn’t be surprised if someone announced he invested the money in anglo irish bank shares

Ice cold by Mediahuis to keep this in their locker. Surprised they didn’t unleash the story until the last minute ala Brownenvelope gate.

Jim Gavin was caught out for being a sneaky scumbag wanker and he deserves everything he gets from it.

I really hope not a single person votes for this stinky landlord

It’s so mental that Gavin didn’t think this would be used against him…. Like not a random citizen, a high-profile journalist lol.

Mad thing is how he didn’t keep it hidden. FF and MM had to know about this before it broke and did nothing about it

Is it just me, or is this a non-story? Who cares? FF put someone up, and it didn’t work out. It’s a figurehead role, has no impact on our day-to-day life. More significant things are happening currently on both local and international levels.

Theres no way Martin wasn’t aware of this beforehand. Running JG was a calculated risk to bin off Bertie imo.

What an absolute loser. To be that cheap over giving someone their money back is a whole other level of pathetic.

I’m glad that guy will never be president, because what an awful message to send out to the world that you can owe someone money, but just never bother your arse paying it just because you think you’ll get away with it. If it was just the one time he failed to repay the guy, I’d give him the benefit of the doubt. But it’s clear from his behavior that he had no intentions of ever giving that money back, despite knowing it was sent to him in error.

Cheap, greedy little fat headed cunt.

It just proves that people are more than willing to sit on information they have about you and release it right when it hurts you the most.

Jim was naive at best to think this wouldn’t come out, and in a time where housing is such a massive issue – what was he thinking?

    13. Absolutely delighted for this lad that he is at least getting some measure of justice over essentially being robbed of about €3.5k. Now I hope he actually gets the money back.

I’ve had so, so, so many negative experiences with landlords, even some similar to this lad, that I can’t deny I’m experiencing an immense degree of schadenfreude from all of this.
