This sounds like wishful thinking. Realistically, the EU is in no position to set global standards in a field that has long been dominated by U.S. companies and will, in all likelihood, become even more so in an AI-driven future. At times, it seems as though most Europeans are content to be a *regulatory superpower* and nothing more than that.

    2. I find people severely underappreciate the DMA or often don’t even know that it exists.

American mega corporations are abusing their monopoly market position every day and regulation is the only thing keeping them somewhat in check.

This comes at a time when these megacorporations pay little to no tax and are a huge financial drain on our economies while regular joe struggles and governments can’t find any money to pay for basic necessities.

Maybe first concentrate on making the rules good. Like I am not gonna be supporting chat control just because some retard from europe came up with it.

    4. I dont trust europe on digital stuff, just look at how often they push for mass surveilance

I think they what they are doing is way to little: focusing on online platforms like Facebook or Twitter, service monopolists like Apple and Google, but don’t address a huge elephant in the room: Microsoft. Microsoft is forcing online presence and MS accounts for mere Windows install, basically a Trojan horse on governments, businesses and military.

Good job, guys , you’ve just invented Russia and China. Keep learning from the best; you have a ton to learn. “Digital sovereignty,” my ass.

CSAR = Protecting European sovereignty means setting our own digital rules – and making sure they are respected.

Yeah! First we get rid of Chat Control and pass laws that prevent mass surveillance – then we can work on that!

Wednesday on r/europe : We need to make more rules! That’s what makes us European!

Thursday on r/Europe: Why doesn’t Europe have all the thriving innovative dotcoms? Why is California full of billionaires?
