      Sorry for the solely Dutch article, but they will probably vote against it but might consider a reworked proposition. So it is in line with what Germany said previous month.

      And _still_ the media frames it as “they vote _against_ measures to stop child abuse! The horror!”

      Instead of presenting it as the Stasi control apparatus that Chat Control actually is.

      I’m glad to see there’s still some common sense in the EU.

      It’s low key pathetic how many governments just hide behind Germany (or France sometimes) in issues which they want to support an unpopular stance.

      Without Germany there is no majority, so they will side with the popular opinion. If Germany was in favour, they would have supported it and then claim to their voters that they did it to protect kids, and to the people who disagree that “it would have passed either way without our vote”.
