    1. I like the sound of that plan mentioned. Interesting to see what will be presented

Sounds nice, but what will Europe do in the ten years it will take to implement this grand plan? Angry fist-shaking at Russian drones and ships that cut undersea cables?

You just know she’s not gonna do a thing, and after her term end, watch her end up on the board of gazprom or lukoil

Two weeks!? What is this “two weeks” thing? Every politician is going to use trumps magical two weeks? You did nothing for decades and now magical “two weeks” are going to save you?

Gosh I’m sick of these people. You have had plenty of time to react, could start in 2008 helping Georgia or 2014 helping Ukraine.

She’s been president of the EC for 6 years, and Russian aggression toward Europe has been a constant for that entire time. It’s about time she woke up.

The typical behavior of a politician in the modern world: promise everything, do nothing. If they are asked what has been done, promise again.

There is no plan in the article, only several “objectives”. The objectives are sound though, so there is that.

The biggest problem Europe must deal with immediately is that it cannot continue to weaken and deplete its CURRENT military capabilities and funding while talking empty big plans to build up IN THE FUTURE. It does not work that way.

Time and resources are finite, so a difficult choice must be made: Either Europe continue to send aid to Ukraine in a hopeless war and continuously weaken itself in the process, and when Russia is done with Ukraine the Europe will be more or less an empty husk ripe for picking, or Europe stops helping Ukraine and use the same aid money to strengthen its own defense, thus preventing Russia from making the next move in the first place.

Kicking the can down the road while pretending that they’re actually going to do something. Well the reality is the EU is pathetic and simply don’t have the ability to do anything. Even if they could do something they still need the permission of their US masters.

      >Von der Leyen said the Commission will present a readiness roadmap in two weeks, which will “not only set common objectives but also very concrete milestones and timelines on the way to 2030.”

Come on, the Satire writes itself. “European Commission: Fighting the Problems of Today, Tomorrow!”
