I seem to remember No10 blocking the report on the distinct lack of weapons of mass destruction in Iraq a few decades ago, some things never change.

*“In a globalised world, what happens to nature abroad doesn’t stay abroad,” he said. “Recent events show this, like how extreme weather has smashed up crops around the world, driving up food prices in British supermarkets”.*

Globalisation is a post war construct where the US guaranteed security for international trade allowing anyone to trade with anyone else and for countries to specialise in certain price points in the supply chain. The US is going home and globalisation is coming to an end the last president that was even slightly internationalist was Bush Snr and everyone else since has been less and less interested in supporting globalisation.

Issues with food production in Brazil is the least of our problems, some commentators suggest that within 10 years we could be back with pre war supply chains and pretty pricy food (its getting that way now).
