La Germania firma un accordo da 4,4 miliardi di dollari per l’Eurofighter Typhoon

[The defence ministry statement](https://www.bmvg.de/de/aktuelles/beschaffung-eurofighter-der-tranche-5-fuer-luftwaffe-5998542) that backs the story. On top of the Typhoon procurement it also mentions:

> The budget holders of the Bundestag continued to approve a procurement contract for armor-performing ammunition. This is fired by the on-board guns of the Tornado and Eurofighter fighter jets, as well as by naval light guns. These are so-called Frangible Armor Piercing (FAP) cartridges of the caliber 27 by 145 millimeters, which are applied in high cadence. The ammunition serves in the focus to combat ground targets. It is needed to train and maintain the operational readiness of the crew. This procurement measure, which was terminated by 2027, costs around 53 million euros. The project is financed by the Bundeswehr special fund.

Which seems really crazy to me, who the hell is expecting a Eurofighter to kill armoured vehicles _with its gun_ in 2025.
