I enjoyed my time in Dresden. Really interesting history and decent people, plus great oppurtunities to travel to nearby Poland or Czechia.
Aalen isn’t much of a city, but it is also quite small and cute with a good international program.
Have fun!
If you like water and ocean views, Stralsund or Flensburg is the place to go.
Come to Augsburg! It’s close to Munich but not as expensive. I like it here very much!
Depends on what you are looking for. I grew up in schweinfurt and like the people and city there a lot. But it is not a truly thriving city and culture there (especially student hangouts) has limitations. Blue collar industrial manufacturing is a bit under the weather. And people in general are – lets say not overwhelmingly welcoming and open hearted at first sight.
Quite a Small campus, afaik mostly male.
If you need more Information about the city let me know. Rent should be quite affordable.
Aschaffenburg is a cute little city too. Has a pretty inner city and places to go out. Also on the Main River, nice nature hills and forests around. (Like SW) Close to Frankfurt / Offenbach/darmstadt for Cultural life can be seen as an upside. Just about 25 min train ride each, but this makes rent possibly a bit more expensive.
