    1. More expensive electricity for EU citizens! Yey!

Fuck my life… Romania already has the most expensive or is basically tied with the most expensive electricity in the entire EU.

      Some more context:

      • The third wave of “AI Factories” (datacenters/supercomputers) will be established in the **Czech Republic**, **Lithuania**, the **Netherlands**, **Romania**, **Spain**, and **Poland**.

^ Press release from the EuroHPC with more details: [https://www.eurohpc-ju.europa.eu/eurohpc-ju-selects-six-additional-ai-factories-expand-europes-ai-capabilities-2025-10-10_en](https://www.eurohpc-ju.europa.eu/eurohpc-ju-selects-six-additional-ai-factories-expand-europes-ai-capabilities-2025-10-10_en)

      • This is part of the overall “InvestAI Facitiliy” where the EU allocated €20 billion to the buildout of AI datacenters ([source](https://digital-strategy.ec.europa.eu/en/policies/ai-factories))

**Edit:** Also, the [EuroHPC Joint Undertaking](https://www.eurohpc-ju.europa.eu/index_en) is a very good program in general as they push the european supercomputing space a lot across the whole continent, especially since the AI initiative started.

No doubt the result of a merger between A factories and I factories whose combined synergy could surf this trend all the way to the bubble-pop.

More seriously: If this means less reliance on American data-chewing sites it may be a good thing, but if it means more Europeans are drinking the AI Kool-aid maybe not.

Romania and Spain? Perfect for keeping the cooling a non-issue.

Yeah again investments in those countries, rich get richer smh. Finland never gets any investments from the EU!

Ai should be banned in certain areas… it’s already ruining livelihoods.

I also have an AI factory, it is very nextgenerationEU while being sustainbale and Resillient.

This sounds like a desperate attempt to be relevant in the field of AI by people who have zero understanding how an email works.

      This doesn’t mean anything.

Putting « AI » in anything allows for the unlocking of specific EU funds. So you’ll see « AI train », « AI agriculture », « AI windmills », « AI roads » all over the place.

Like Sicila bridge being reassigned as a defense project.

    10. They are called datacenters. An AI factory would imply a place where AI is made.
