At some point that pod is going to have to be called isn’t it?

      Edit: yes I meant culled

      > However, a [group of experts](https://archive.iwc.int/pages/download.php?direct=1&noattach=true&ref=22172&ext=pdf&k=) tasked with determining what was causing the whales to strike rudders and how to stop it, last year found that rather than trying to hurt people, the orcas just wanted to have fun.
      >
      > **“This looks like play,**” said Naomi Rose, a senior scientist at the Animal Welfare Institute who was part of the working group.

      > **“It’s a very dangerous game they’re playing, obviously. But it’s a game.”**

      > In most cases, the scientists found, the orcas approaching the vessels come from a group of about 15, mostly juvenile, whales.
      >
      > They typically approach slowly, almost as if to just bump the rudders with their noses and heads.
      >
      > **“There’s nothing in the behavior of the animals that suggests that they’re being aggressive,”** said Zerbini, who was also part of the working group.

      > “As they play with the rudder, they don’t understand that they can damage the rudder and that damaging the rudder will affect human beings. It’s more playful than intentional.”

    3. If only nature could be discriminatory against humans with the worse pollution print.

Fun fact: there’s no documented case of a killer whale killing a human. They are peaceful and playful creatures

      (edit: in the wild)

Wasn’t there a few years ago a pod of young Orcas that liked to capsize small boats for fun?

When you are intelligent but can’t make toys to pass your time, you have to play with whatever happens to be available.

The name Killer-Whale is a misnomer. Let’s stick to “Orca”.

Maybe the whales can tell the humans of today are close to annihilating everyone including themselves and want to stop them.

Always amusing that redditors read the word yacht and start thinking about 100M+ super yachts instead of the usual 10 meter sailing boats with middle class families it refers to in those orca cases
