      That’s green energy for you.

It’s cheap when you get it.

Building electricity storages is expensive AF, so Finland like any other country only does the easy part.

Without nuclear reactors we would be totally screwed.

Edit: What quite many homeowners do is that they have solar panels and 12 months fixed price contracts.

On summer we get solar, so total average electricity price is low, on winter we are stress free due to fixed price contracts

What do you mean? These days come and go. Days are getting cold and there’s no wind today.

Btw, on average Finland has one of the cheapest electricity in the EU.

    3. It’s gonna be less windy for a few days. Get a fixed price contract if you don’t want deal with price fluctuations.

Autumn is alway very variable, guess it’s hard go match demand when the temperature is variable. I use these nights to make myself feel better about eating out

Let’s get fixed-price electricity and not need to worry about this anymore.

Meh that’s nothing. Super easy to avoid peak electrical use hours, in the country I’m firing up my wood stove and in the city it doesn’t even matter. Average annual cost of market electricity continues to be cheaper than anything else. I save a couple coins here and there doing laundry or food prep on cheaper days. No electric sauna (that is one reason it always goes up in evenings btw), nor car.Edit: No electric car.

      No wind.

Electricity was free all day yesterday – you only had to pay for transfer.

Tomorrow it will be around 70 c/kWh for two hours. Good time for a short evening nap or walk.

Single dates can have massively expensive spot electricity prices, but those are then balanced out by extremely cheap prices. I have spot contract and the past year (last 12 months) my average price has been 4.93c/kWh and I don’t really adjust my consumption outside of whether to visit the sauna or wait until tomorrow.
