Not necessarily distrust but the man deserves a break.

We can see weird phenomenon in the country where people trust to random polls, but there is no possible ways to hold elections because of… wait for it… unrepresentative possible results.

The guy deserves a fucking break and unlimited everything when he finishes presidency

(I’m American, not Ukrainian if the context matters…but my opinion).

He’s great. He’s done an outstanding job of standing up to and fending off an existential threat.

…but the presidency isn’t and shouldn’t be a lifetime appointment. I don’t know how the setup works in Ukraine, but we limit ours to 2 4-year terms. I understand wanting Zelensky to see the war through but I think the post-war future for Ukraine should see a new president.

I doubt Ms Zelenska would allow that to happen. Nor do I believe he would be willing.

The so-called 20% of voters who say he should stay on are being disrespectful.

He has recently stated that he will give up the presidency once the war is over.

He’s been quite clear that he has no intention of running for president after the war ends.

Remember Churchill’s government didn’t win reelection after WWII in the UK…

I’m like 90% sure the guy only dreams of vacations and spending time with his family away from this madness

Elections were delayed for the war, I believe it is right for Ukraine to have a new leader at the end of the war, Zelensky has done enough for his country.

He is fighting precisely so Ukraine doesn’t have a “president for life” like the aggressor.

What makes a good leader is war time isn’t the same as in peace time.

I don’t want him to stay President after the war. I want him to spend a solid year doing absolutely fuck all in some Crimean beach resort.

      If anyone’s earned a rest it’s him.

    14. He’ll probably be remembered as the Winston Churchill of Ukraine. The man who saved the country and its people at its darkest hour.

Me too! And they did not ask me. I like our president! Thanks!

It’s not an unusual thing. Winston Churchill also lost the election in ’45 after WW2 was won. He was too connected to the war with all its misery and suffering and people simply wanted someone to win the peace for them…

After Ukraine’s victory I hope he takes his family on a nice long, well deserved vacation and lets the next person step in to rebuild the country.

That’s normal – he was elected President, not emperor.
